Welcome to a world of fantasy, imagination, humor and color all combined in these delightfully whimsical ceramic figures by Carlos Mu?oz and Albert Ickenroth.

Albert is a native Dutchman, where he studied art and culture as a youth, became enamored of the great masters, and ultimately discovered his talent for working in papier Mache, bronze and copper. In the mid-1970?s he vacationed in Mexico and was fascinated by the people, culture, vivid colors and wildlife. He stayed and discovered a gift for working in papier Mache and with other internationally known Mexican artist; he began sculpting life-size animals in papier Mache, brass and copper. Their appealing designs and fanciful colors have been imitated around the world.

Carlos Mu?oz also studied art and painting in his native M?xico, Carlos and Albert began working together as the Carlos-Albert team in 1990.Creating life- size and larger animals. These animals with a soul and spirit are just begging for a hug. Their huge suns and moons add color and expression to walls around the world, and inspire the hearts of children and adults alike. Their lines of smaller animals done in ceramic or bronze portray hidden human foibles. You have only to glance at the crocodile carrying her shopping bags and American express card or the chubby buttocks of the seated giraffe or the proud mama ostrich with her baby carriage to be reminded of some one close to you.

Currently, Albert and Carlos are devoting much of their time to their jewelry, Fashioned from sterling silver and papier mach? in exuberant colors or in more conservative silver and 18 Karat gold vermeil. These intricately - fashioned designs depict suns and moons with character, amusing animals and object from nature. Anyone of these signed pieces will be sure to bring pleasure to its wearer.

When you tour the studio there is an atmosphere of positive energy and joy in the work environment that is reflected in the creation of their art. Each original figurine is one of a limited edition of 150, meticulously hand painted and signed by the artists. They are an exceptional value certain to appreciate over the years. In 1993 CarlosAlbert was designated one of six MASTER ARTISANS of Mexico by the prestigious international organization M.A.M., a certificate of authenticity signed by CarlosAlbert accompanies each piece.
